Quad LVDS driver for 400 Mbps point-to-point links
The TI SN65LVDS3487DRG4 is a quad LVDS line driver from the 65LVDS family, designed to push serial data at 400 Mbps over controlled-impedance differential pairs. It packs four independent drivers into a single 16-SOIC package, making it a space-efficient choice for applications that need multiple transmit channels — think camera serial interfaces, display links, or backplane clock/data distribution in industrial and telecom gear.
Rated for 400 Mbps per channel, this driver handles typical LVDS link budgets with healthy margin for cable and connector losses. At that speed, the differential edge rates are fast enough that PCB trace impedance control and termination become mandatory — 100 Ω differential pairs, closely coupled, with a 100 Ω resistor at the receiver end. No margin for stubs.
4 drivers, 0 receivers — pure transmit side
With a driver/receiver count of 4/0, this part is a transmit-only device. If your link needs integrated receivers on the same chip, you'd look at a transceiver such as the SN65LVDSxx family. For a clean point-to-point or multidrop transmit array, four channels in one package saves board area versus four single-channel drivers.
TI lists the SN65LVDS3487DRG4 as Active.
