100 Mbps per channel — bus speed and signal integrity
The SN65LVDS3486D: Each of the four receivers supports a 100 Mbps signaling rate, which translates to a 100 MHz clock-equivalent edge rate. At that speed, PCB layout matters: keep the differential pair impedance near 100 Ω and route the traces tightly coupled to minimize common-mode noise. The receiver's input threshold is LVDS-standard, so it works with any LVDS driver that meets the TIA/EIA-644 spec.
The supply voltage of 3V to 3.6V aligns with a 3.3V nominal rail. The CMOS outputs swing rail-to-rail, so they interface directly with 3.3V logic families (LVTTL, LVCMOS) without level translation.
No immediate supply risk, but as with any active IC, securing a multi-year forecast with the distributor avoids allocation surprises.
