Quad LVDS receiver for 400 Mbps serial links
The Texas Instruments SN65LVDS3486BDR is a quad-channel LVDS receiver in the 65LVDS family, designed to convert differential LVDS signals into single-ended 3.3V CMOS levels at data rates up to 400 Mbps per channel. With four receivers on-chip, it handles a full bidirectional link pair plus spare channels for clock or control signals. The 50 mV of built-in hysteresis cleans up noisy differential lines, which matters when the cable run leaves the backplane or passes through a noisy industrial environment.
Where it fits in a design
This receiver is the front-end for point-to-point or multidrop LVDS links in industrial automation, motor drives, telecom line cards, and test equipment. The 3.3V supply is common on FPGA and MCU boards, so no level shifting is needed on the receiver side.
