Single-channel LVDS redriver — 4 Gbps signal conditioning
It's designed to regenerate and retransmit high-speed serial signals over longer PCB traces or cables, compensating for signal degradation from dielectric loss and connector reflections. Rated for a maximum data rate of 4 Gbps, this redriver handles common multi-gigabit serial protocols including DisplayPort, PCIe Gen2, SATA 3G, and 1G/10G Ethernet backplanes. The 30 ns propagation delay is the added latency per channel — factor it into your link timing budget if the redriver sits in a closed-loop feedback path. Supply range spans 2.375 V to 3.6 V, covering both 2.5 V and 3.3 V LVDS rails. Quiescent draw is 35 mA typical, which at 3.3 V adds roughly 115 mW per channel to the power budget. In a four-lane application that's nearly 0.5 W — the exposed pad on the 8-WFDFN package is there for a reason; stitch it to a ground plane with thermal vias.

Housed in an 8-WFDFN with exposed pad, the SN65LVDS20DRFTG4 measures 2 mm by 2 mm (supplier device package 8-WSON). Plan a 3x3 via grid with 0.3 mm drill tied to the ground plane. The part carries no AEC-Q100 qualification, so it's suited for telecom infrastructure, test equipment, and industrial backplanes rather than under-hood or chassis-domain automotive.
