PECL-to-LVDS translation in a tiny package
It's designed for high-speed serial links where you need to clean up a degraded clock or data signal and translate between logic families in one pass. The supply range spans 2.375 V to 3.6 V, which covers common 2.5 V and 3.3 V rails, and the single-channel draw is 30 mA typical.
The pad also gives you a solid mechanical anchor, so the part is stable under the hot-air station if you need to rework it. The 2.375 V minimum supply also gives you headroom during a brown-out on a 2.5 V rail.
