The SN65LVDS179DR is a single-channel LVDS transceiver from Texas Instruments' 65LVDS series, configured as a full-duplex 1/1 driver/receiver pair. It supports a data rate of 150Mbps, which is the practical ceiling for point-to-point or multidrop LVDS links over controlled-impedance backplanes or cables. Supply voltage range is 3V to 3.6V, typical for LVDS I/O banks on FPGAs or ASICs — the 3.3V nominal rail sits in the middle of that window, so no external regulator is needed if the board already carries a 3.3V plane.
Housed in an 8-SOIC package (3.90mm body width), the footprint matches the industry-standard SOIC-8 land pattern — no board spin required if the design already uses that package for other interface devices.
ROHS3 compliant per the lifecycle record, which covers the ten restricted substances including the four phthalates added in EU 2015/863.
