What this LVDS fanout buffer does
The Texas Instruments SN65LVDS109DBTR is a 1:8 LVDS buffer and multiplexer that takes one differential LVDS input and fans it out to two banks of eight outputs each. The 5 pF input capacitance and 46 mA supply current are typical for this class of fanout buffer. It comes in a 38-pin TSSOP package for surface-mount assembly.
The 1:8 fanout saves board space versus discrete buffers, but the 38-TSSOP footprint is larger than a simple 1:4 buffer in a smaller package. The 400 Mbps ceiling means it handles 100BASE-TX, SGMII, or standard-definition video links, but not Gigabit Ethernet or 10 GbE serial lanes — those need a higher-rate redriver or retimer.
