It is designed for distributing high-speed clock or data signals across a backplane or between boards where LVDS signalling is needed for noise immunity and low EMI. The 1:4 fanout saves board space and reduces component count compared to using multiple single-output buffers.
The 400 Mbps data rate sets the upper limit for serial links — good for gigabit Ethernet, serial backplanes, or high-speed ADC/DAC data interfaces. The 2.2 ns propagation delay is the time from the LVTTL input edge to the LVDS output edge; budget this into your timing closure for multi-drop or daisy-chained links. The 23 mA supply current is per-device, so a design with multiple fanout stages needs to account for that in the rail budget.
Housed in a 16-TSSOP package with a 4.40 mm body width and 0.65 mm pin pitch. Surface-mount only. The Tape & Reel suffix means it ships on a reel for automated pick-and-place — no tube or tray option in this order code. The 3 pF input capacitance is low enough that it does not load the driving LVTTL source significantly at 400 Mbps.
