Quad LVDS receiver for the 3.3 V serial link
At 400 Mbps each receiver channel can recover a serial stream with a bit period of 2.5 ns. The LVDS common-mode range of typically ±1 V around the 1.2 V offset means the receiver tolerates a ground shift of a couple hundred millivolts between nodes — handy when the cable runs between boards that share a chassis ground but not a perfect star-earth. The differential input threshold is ±100 mV typical, so a clean 350 mV swing at the source gives you plenty of noise margin.
Supply and temperature — industrial fit
If your design lives in a conditioned server room the commercial-grade sibling would also work, but the industrial rating here gives you headroom for the same BOM across multiple product tiers.
Package and footprint — 16-TSSOP
The 16-TSSOP (4.4 mm body width, 0.65 mm pitch) is a common footprint shared across many TI interface parts.
That means no last-time-buy notice looming, no end-of-life clock ticking.
