The SN65LVDM180PW speaks LVDS, not CAN, and runs full-duplex on a differential pair with no arbitration layer. There is no pin-for-pin replacement between the two: the LVDS part uses a different I/O structure and the CAN part includes a receiver hysteresis of 100 mV for noise immunity on the bus. A board designed for the CAN transceiver would need a respin to use this LVDS device.
