CAN bus interface for harsh environments
It integrates one driver and one receiver in a compact 8-SOIC package, with a supply range of 4.68 V to 5.33 V suited to standard 5 V CAN systems.
125 mV hysteresis — noise margin on a long bus
The 125 mV receiver hysteresis is the spec that keeps the bus from glitching on a noisy harness. On a long twisted-pair run with motor drives or solenoids switching nearby, that built-in dead band means the transceiver won't toggle on coupled noise below the threshold. It's a practical edge over parts with lower hysteresis when the layout doesn't allow a clean ground plane under the CAN pair.
That makes it a candidate for engine management, transmission controllers, or any ECU that lives near the heat source.
