RS-485/RS-422 link for 20 Mbps industrial buses
At 20 Mbps the SN65HVD73DR supports high-speed data transfer typical of Profibus, Modbus RTU over RS-485, or synchronous serial links. Full-duplex operation means the driver and receiver are active simultaneously, so the bus can carry bidirectional traffic without a direction-control GPIO — useful for point-to-point links where the host sends commands and reads responses on separate wire pairs. The 70 mV hysteresis prevents chatter on long cable runs where reflections and common-mode noise are present.
