RS-485/RS-422 transceiver for 3.3V industrial buses
The Texas Instruments SN65HVD33DR is a full-duplex RS-485/RS-422 transceiver in a 14-SOIC package, with one driver and one receiver on a single 3V-to-3.6V supply rail. It pushes data at 23 Mbps, which puts it in the high-speed tier for RS-485 — short cable runs, but fast enough for multi-drop backplanes or encoder links that can't tolerate the turnaround delay of half-duplex. The 50 mV of receiver hysteresis cleans up noise on long stubs without external biasing.

At 23 Mbps, the SN65HVD33DR is not a slow-twitch industrial link. Practical cable length at that speed is around 10 to 20 meters before signal attenuation and reflections eat the eye.
