RS-485/RS-422 transceiver for 5 V industrial buses
The 30 mV of receiver hysteresis improves noise margin on long or electrically noisy bus runs, which is typical in factory automation, building management, and industrial control networks where the cable leaves the cabinet.
The 4.5 V minimum supply gives headroom for a regulated 5 V rail with typical ±5% tolerance; if the rail droops during a cold-crank or brownout condition, the transceiver stays operational down to 4.5 V before the undervoltage lockout engages.
