If your application requires faster throughput — say for motion-control encoder feedback or high-speed sensor arrays — you would step up to a part like the SN65HVD3086E family; but for Modbus RTU, BACnet MS/TP, or generic RS-485 sensor polling, 200 kbps is the right lane.
5 V only — check your rail
It is not a 3.3 V part, so if your microcontroller or ASIC runs on a 3.3 V rail you will need a level translator or a separate 5 V supply for the bus side. The through-hole PDIP package makes it straightforward to socket or hand-solder on a prototype board, but the 5 V requirement is the first thing to verify against your existing power tree.
