CANbus transceiver for 5V automotive and industrial buses
The 8-PDIP through-hole package suits prototyping, low-volume production, and rework-friendly board designs where a socketed or soldered DIP is preferred over surface-mount.
Receiver hysteresis and signal integrity
The receiver includes 100 mV of hysteresis, which helps reject noise on the CAN bus differential lines. In a typical automotive or industrial CAN network with twisted-pair cabling, that hysteresis margin reduces the chance of false bit detection from coupled transients or ground shifts. It is a practical spec for bus lengths up to several tens of meters at 1 Mbps, where signal integrity is a design consideration.
