CANbus transceiver for 3.3V nodes
It integrates a single driver and receiver, with 100 mV of receiver hysteresis to reject bus noise.
3.3V rail compatibility — the supply constraint
This part runs on a 3.3V rail only — it does not tolerate 5V on VCC. If your existing CAN bus uses a 5V transceiver, the SN65HVD234DR cannot drop in without a rail change. For 5V systems, look at the SN65HVD230 or SN65HVD251 family, which accept a 5V supply. The 100 mV hysteresis on the receiver input helps maintain signal integrity on long bus runs or in electrically noisy environments.
