RS-485 bus survival: common-mode range and fault tolerance
The SN65HVD179DR is a full-duplex RS422/RS485 transceiver from TI, packing one driver and one receiver into an 8-pin SOIC. The 50 mV of receiver hysteresis filters out noise on long cable runs — that is the difference between a clean frame and a CRC error on a 500-metre bus with a ground offset.
RoHS3 compliant, no exemptions to track.
