RS485 transceiver built for automotive and industrial bus lines
The Texas Instruments SN65HVD1780QDRQ1 is a half-duplex RS422/RS485 transceiver in an 8-SOIC package, carrying AEC-Q100 automotive qualification. It handles one driver and one receiver on a single differential bus pair, with the 50 mV receiver hysteresis that helps keep noise from long cable runs from triggering false start bits.
115 Kbps — enough for most sensor and actuator networks
The data rate caps at 115 Kbps. That is fine for PLC-to-drive links, HVAC zone controllers, battery-monitor polling, or any Modbus RTU network running at 9600 or 38400 baud. If your design needs 1 Mbps or higher, this is not the part — look at the SN65HVD17xx family instead. But for the bulk of industrial fieldbus and automotive body-electronics traffic, 115 Kbps leaves margin.
