Active production, 40 Mbps RS-485 node
The SN65HVD05DR is a Texas Instruments half-duplex RS-485/RS-422 transceiver rated for 40 Mbps data rate — fast enough for Profibus DP, BACnet MS/TP, and other industrial fieldbus links that run at 12 Mbps or below, with margin for higher-speed point-to-point links.
Receiver hysteresis is specified at 35 mV, which provides enough noise margin to reject common-mode noise on long twisted-pair runs without adding external filtering. The single driver/receiver pair means this is a node transceiver, not a multi-drop line driver — each node on the bus needs its own SN65HVD05DR.
