5V supply — not a 3.3V part

The supply range is 4.75V to 5.25V, so this is a 5V-only transceiver. It is not compatible with 3.3V logic rails unless you level-shift the driver enable and data lines. If your system runs on a 3.3V supply, you need a different transceiver such as the SN65HVD3082E or a 3.3V-rated variant. The 5V supply buys you a larger differential output voltage — typically above 1.5V into a 54Ω load — which gives extra noise margin on long cables.
