Product details

The SA556N integrates two independent 555-type timer/oscillator stages in a single 14-pin DIP (0.300-inch body, 7.62 mm pitch). Maximum oscillation frequency is 100 kHz. This is the astable ceiling; in monostable (one-shot) mode the output pulse width is set by the external RC time constant, and the 100 kHz limit governs the minimum achievable pulse width at the timing capacitor's discharge rate. A control cabinet or bench instrument that sees 70°C internal air still has 15°C margin before the timing accuracy drifts outside the datasheet limits.
