Precision 4.096 V reference for ADC/DAC chains
That tight tolerance makes it a go-to bias for 12- to 16-bit SAR ADCs where the reference error directly eats into the system's total unadjusted error budget. Low-frequency noise is spec'd at 3 µVp-p over 0.1 Hz to 10 Hz, and the temperature coefficient is 3 ppm/°C — both numbers that matter when the reference sits upstream of a precision measurement front-end in an industrial controller or a data-acquisition module.
Supply headroom and output drive
Input voltage range is 4.296 V to 18 V, so the part needs at least 200 mV of headroom above the 4.096 V output to regulate. That is a tight dropout for a series reference — it lets you run from a 5 V rail without a separate pre-regulator. Output is rated for 10 mA continuous, enough to bias the reference input of multiple ADCs or a DAC and still leave margin for a small bypass cap. Quiescent current is 1.2 mA typical, which keeps the self-heating low in the 8-VSSOP package.
