That tolerance is the starting accuracy before temperature and ageing; for a 12-bit ADC with a 2.5 V reference, ±0.1 % translates to roughly ±2.5 mV, or about ±4 LSBs at 12 bits — tight enough that many designs skip the external trim pot. Over the 165 °C span that gives a maximum shift of about 1.32 mV — equivalent to about 2 LSBs at 12 bits, or 0.5 LSB at 14 bits. For a precision ADC front end that budget is comfortable; for a 16-bit SAR converter you would want a lower-drift reference like the REF5025's sibling with 3 ppm/°C.

That is the 1/f flicker corner that dominates in weigh-scale, load-cell, and strain-gauge applications where the signal bandwidth is a few hertz. At 3 µVp-p the reference contributes less than 0.5 LSB of noise to a 14-bit measurement at 2.5 V full scale — clean enough for most industrial sensor interfaces.
