Precision 2.048V reference for ADC and DAC bias
The REF5020AIDGKT: This combination makes it a fit for driving the Vref input of a 16-bit or 20-bit SAR ADC where the reference error directly sets the full-scale gain error budget. Output noise is 3µVp-p from 0.1Hz to 10Hz, which keeps the reference contribution below the quantization noise floor of a 2.048V full-scale, 20-bit system (about 2µV LSB). The low-frequency noise dominates the signal chain in DC-coupled precision measurements, not the wideband noise.
Output drive and input rail tolerance
Rated for 10mA output current, the REF5020AIDGKT can source the dynamic load of a successive-approximation ADC's reference input without an external buffer — the internal amplifier settles within the ADC's acquisition window. The 1.2mA quiescent supply current means the reference's own draw is a small fraction of the total system budget in a battery-powered instrument. The series topology means the output tracks the input until dropout; below 2.7V the output falls out of regulation, so the supply rail must stay above that floor across the full load and temperature range.
Package, temperature grade, and lifecycle
The base product number REF5020 covers a family of output voltages; the AIDGKT suffix identifies the 2.048V variant in the 8-VSSOP package on tape-and-reel or cut-tape.
