Automotive-grade 3V reference for precision bias and ADC drive
The REF4132A30DBVRQ1: Housed in a SOT-23-5 package, it operates from a 3.05V to 5.5V input rail and supplies up to 10 mA to the load. AEC-Q100 qualification (grade 1, -40°C to 125°C) means this reference is certified for under-hood and engine-bay electronics where ambient temperatures exceed 105°C — the 125°C rating gives margin for self-heating in a sealed ECU enclosure.
Noise and drift — the parameters that set ADC accuracy
A 15 µVp-p noise contribution keeps the ADC's LSB transitions clean down to about 0.5 LSB at 12 bits. Supply current is 100 µA typical, which keeps the reference's own dissipation below 0.5 mW at 5V input — negligible in a mixed-signal system where the ADC and sensor front-end dominate the thermal budget.
Sourcing and compliance
Available in tape-and-reel packaging (SOT-23-5, 3000/reel typical) — the reel quantity suits automated pick-and-place for medium-to-high volume assembly. Cut-tape options are also listed for prototype or low-volume builds.
