4.096 V fixed reference in SOT-23-3 — what it delivers
The ±0.2% initial tolerance means the output is within 8.2 mV of nominal at 25 °C without any external trim, adequate for systems targeting 12-bit accuracy (1 LSB ≈ 1 mV at 4.096 V). That keeps the reference stable enough for precision industrial control loops and sensor front-ends without needing a low-drift premium tier. The SOT-23-3 package is a three-pin footprint with a 0.95 mm pitch — compact enough for space-constrained designs, and the pinout (input, output, ground) simplifies PCB layout.
Supply headroom and output drive
A 4.096 V output from a 5 V rail leaves about 850 mV of headroom for the internal pass transistor; that's comfortable for 10 mA output current but the dropout margin shrinks if the input rail dips below 4.5 V. Quiescent supply current is 135 µA, which makes this reference suitable for battery-powered or loop-powered instruments where every microamp counts. The 10 mA output can drive the reference input of an ADC and a small resistive divider without an external buffer.
Noise performance for precision measurement
Low-frequency noise is specified at 53 µVp-p from 0.1 Hz to 10 Hz and 78 µVrms from 10 Hz to 10 kHz. For a 4.096 V reference, that's about 13 ppm p-p of 1/f noise — acceptable for 12-bit systems but may limit effective resolution in 16-bit designs without averaging or filtering.
