4.096V series reference in SOT-23-3 — what it covers
The Texas Instruments REF3040AIDBZTG4 is a precision series voltage reference with a fixed 4.096V output — a common full-scale reference for 12-bit and 16-bit ADCs that maps directly to a 0–4.096V input range. It delivers up to 25 mA output current, enough to drive an ADC reference input and a small sensor bridge without an external buffer.
Noise floor and supply headroom
Output noise is specified as 45µVp-p over 0.1Hz to 10Hz and 128µVrms over 10Hz to 10kHz — low enough for most precision analog chains without post-filtering. The input voltage range is 4.146V to 5.5V, so a clean 5V rail with 350 mV of headroom is sufficient. Quiescent supply current is 50µA, making this reference viable for battery-powered instruments where every microamp counts.
