Active lifecycle — no BOM risk

The RC4558ID: Sourced through franchised and independent distribution; availability and current pricing confirmed at RFQ against your line-item quantity.

Signal bandwidth and slew rate — what the numbers mean for your circuit

For audio line-level signals (2 V p-p typical) the slew limit is not the constraint; for fast pulse or comparator applications it is. Input bias current is 150 nA typical — high enough to matter with source impedances above 100 kΩ, where the voltage drop across the source resistance becomes comparable to the 500 µV input offset voltage. For precision DC or high-impedance sensor front-ends, a FET-input op-amp is a better fit; for audio mixing, active filters, and general signal conditioning below 100 kΩ source impedance, the RC4558ID is well within its sweet spot.

Supply rails and power budget

Each amplifier draws 2.5 mA quiescent, so the dual-channel total is 5 mA — a light load on a ±15 V rail, leaving headroom for downstream stages. Output current is rated 10 mA per channel — sufficient to drive a 600 Ω load to ±10 V swing or a 2 kΩ load rail-to-rail. For heavier loads (headphones, long cables, multiple ADC inputs), a buffer stage after the op-amp is advisable.

The 8-SOIC (0.154-inch width, 3.90 mm) surface-mount package mates to a standard SOIC-8 footprint. Supplied in tube packaging — 50 or 100 pieces per tube depending on the reel variant. For pick-and-place volume, verify the tube-to-reel transfer with your assembler; the SOIC-8 tube pitch is standard.
