32-bit, 192-kHz stereo ADC with I²S/TDM output
The PCM1821IRTER is a two-channel, 32-bit audio ADC sampling from 8 kHz to 192 kHz, part of the Burr-Brown™ series from Texas Instruments. Data exits over a serial I²S or TDM interface, making it a direct fit for DSPs, FPGAs, or audio codecs that expect a standard audio serial port. The -40°C to +125°C operating range covers industrial and automotive cabin-temperature environments where consumer-grade CODECs would drift out of spec.
Supply rails and package footprint
It needs two supply domains: a 3 V to 3.6 V analog rail and a 1.65 V to 1.95 V digital I/O rail — the split lets the digital interface run at the same voltage as the host controller without a level shifter. Housed in a 20-WFQFN with exposed pad (3 mm × 3 mm), the part requires a thermal-land pattern on the PCB for heat sinking; the pad should be connected to the analog ground plane. Surface-mount assembly with the 0.5 mm pitch QFN footprint is standard for reflow; the exposed pad needs a solder-paste stencil aperture that covers 50–70 % of the pad area to avoid voids.
