20-SSOP footprint and board integration
The PCM1803ADB: The supplier device package is also 20-SSOP, so the land pattern is consistent across the TI datasheet and the package drawing. This is a two-row gull-wing lead form; the 0.209" width keeps the analog and digital supply traces short on a two-layer board, but a ground plane under the package helps isolate the 24-bit conversion from digital switching noise.
Supply rails and analog/digital separation
The voltage supply source is listed as both analog and digital — meaning the ADC has separate AVDD and DVDD pins. The 5 V analog rail sets the full-scale input range; the 3.3 V digital rail mates directly with a 3.3 V serial host without a level shifter. The 2-channel serial data interface (likely I²S or left-justified) carries the 24-bit word at up to 96 kHz sample rate per channel.
This covers outdoor telecom cabinets, factory-floor audio capture, and automotive cabin (non-engine-bay) applications. The 24-bit resolution at 96 kHz sampling is typical for professional-grade line-level inputs; the dynamic range is limited by the analog supply noise floor, not the converter itself.
