The Texas Instruments PCA9544ARGYR is an I²C/SMBus translating switch that lets a single upstream bus segment connect to four downstream channels, each with its own voltage domain.
Without that via stitch, the junction temperature rises faster under sustained I²C traffic or when the switch is passing higher supply currents. The part is surface-mount only.
