Dual-supply level translator — obsolete, but still specifiable
The NXP PCA9306DCURE4 is a single-circuit, two-channel bidirectional voltage level translator in an 8-VFSOP (2.30 mm width) surface-mount package. Outputs can be open-drain or push-pull, covering I2C, SMBus, and one- or two-wire serial buses.

Auto-direction sensing — one less signal to route
The auto-direction sensing is the feature that saves a GPIO pin and a trace. Older level translators like the TXB010x or 74LVC1T45 need a DIR pin driven by the host controller; the PCA9306 reads the bus direction from the pull-up state and switches transparently. This makes it a clean fit for I2C buses where the data direction alternates mid-packet, or for any bidirectional open-drain line where a dedicated direction signal would complicate the layout.
VCCA accepts 1.2 V to 3.3 V; The 1.2 V floor on VCCA means this part can interface directly with the lowest modern core voltages (FPGA banks, low-voltage MCUs) without an extra regulator. The 105°C maximum covers most industrial and telecom enclosures — only extended under-hood automotive or downhole applications would need a 125°C-rated part. The 8-VFSOP package is also designated as 8-VSSOP in the supplier device code; footprint matches the standard 8-pin VSSOP land pattern.
