Two-rail level translator with auto-direction sensing
The Texas Instruments PCA9306DCUR is a single-circuit, two-channel bidirectional voltage-level translator designed to bridge logic families operating on different supply rails.
Auto-direction sensing — no GPIO overhead
Each channel senses the direction of data flow automatically by detecting which side drives the bus low first. This eliminates the direction pin found on many level translators (e.g., the SN74LXC2T45 family), saving a microcontroller GPIO and simplifying the firmware state machine. The pass-gate architecture also allows the output type to be either open-drain or push-pull, so it works with I2C's wired-AND bus as well as standard CMOS push-pull signals.
Housed in an 8-VFSOP (2.30 mm width) package, also designated as supplier device package 8-VSSOP. The 0.5 mm pin pitch demands a controlled solder-paste stencil and a reflow profile appropriate for MSL 1 (per TI's standard handling). The compact footprint suits space-constrained designs like sensor modules, portable instruments, and interface dongles.
ROHS3 compliant. No known PCN affecting the DCUR (VSSOP-8) package variant.
