The OPA835IRUNT: That combination — high slew rate at micropower quiescent — is the headline reason to reach for this part over a general-purpose rail-to-rail output amplifier. The 31 MHz gain-bandwidth product and 56 MHz -3 dB bandwidth back it up for small-signal paths, but the slew rate is what buys you large-signal bandwidth without burning the power budget. Rail-to-rail output swing means you get the full supply range into an ADC or comparator input without an extra rail splitter.
Supply current vs. slew rate — the BOM trade-off
At 250 µA supply current, the OPA835IRUNT sits in a sweet spot between micropower op-amps (sub-100 µA) that slew at a few V/µs and high-speed parts (several mA) that hit 1000 V/µs. If your signal chain needs to settle a 10 V step in under 40 ns, this part does it without forcing a regulator upgrade for the op-amp rail. The 100 µV input offset voltage and 200 nA input bias current are typical for a bipolar-input voltage-feedback amp at this speed — adequate for 12-bit systems, but watch the offset drift if you are DC-coupling a precision sensor.
Without that, the junction-to-ambient thermal resistance rises and the part will thermally cycle at high ambient temperatures.
