180 MHz voltage feedback amp in 8-SOIC
It operates from a 9 V to 11 V supply span and draws 5.1 mA quiescent current. Output drive capability is 110 mA per channel.
The 240 V/µs slew rate determines the maximum large-signal output swing without slew-rate limiting. For a full 10 V peak-to-peak output, the small-signal bandwidth is the GBP of 180 MHz, but the full-power bandwidth is approximately 240 V/µs / (π × 10 V) ≈ 7.6 MHz. This means the OPA650UB can cleanly reproduce a 10 Vpp sine wave up to about 7.6 MHz; above that, the output amplitude will be slew-rate limited. For lower output swings, the usable bandwidth extends toward the 180 MHz GBP. This combination suits it for ADC driver stages, video distribution amplifiers, and IF amplifier chains where both small-signal bandwidth and large-signal settling matter.
Supply range and thermal considerations
The OPA650UB requires a supply span between 9 V and 11 V — typically ±5 V dual supplies. At 5.1 mA quiescent current, the static power dissipation is about 51 mW with ±5 V rails. The 110 mA output current capability means the package dissipation can rise significantly under heavy load; the 8-SOIC's junction-to-ambient thermal resistance (typically 150°C/W to 175°C/W depending on copper area) should be checked against the maximum junction temperature of 150°C. For continuous high-output-current applications, adequate PCB copper pour and airflow are recommended.
It is not RoHS compliant, which is a consideration for designs targeting EU RoHS exemptions or legacy repair/maintenance BOMs.
