The OPA548TG3: Housed in a TO-220-7 formed-leads through-hole package, it targets applications that need a high-current, high-voltage drive stage — motor coils, actuator solenoids, audio power stages, and programmable power supplies. The 1 MHz gain-bandwidth product and 10 V/µs slew rate are modest by signal-chain standards, but the part is not meant for precision or speed; it is a power buffer that can source or sink 5 A while dissipating heat through the TO-220 tab.
Supply range and thermal reality
The 8 V minimum supply means you cannot run this from a 5 V logic rail — it needs a separate power bus. The 60 V maximum span covers industrial rails and split supplies with margin.
It is not qualified to AEC-Q100, so automotive under-hood or engine-bay deployment would require additional screening. The industrial temperature range covers most power-supply and motor-drive applications where the amplifier sits on a PCB inside a ventilated enclosure.
