What the 750 mA output buys you
That current rating, combined with an 8 V to 60 V supply span, makes it a fit for driving resistive or inductive loads in industrial control loops: valve solenoids, actuator coils, motor pre-drive stages, and power-supply error amplifiers that need to source or sink real current. The 1 MHz gain-bandwidth product and 6 V/µs slew rate are modest by signal-chain standards, but adequate for DC and low-frequency power control where the load dominates the design.
Housed in a TO-220-7 through-hole package, the OPA547T-1 exposes a metal tab for heatsinking — essential when dissipating the voltage drop across the output stage at 750 mA. The tab is electrically connected to the negative supply rail (V–), so the heatsink must be isolated or the system must tolerate that connection. Through-hole mounting suits point-of-load regulators, bench supplies, and chassis-mount PCBs where board space is not the primary constraint.
