180 V supply span — the headline differentiator
The OPA462IDDA is a single-channel general-purpose operational amplifier with a supply span from 12 V minimum to 180 V maximum. That 180 V ceiling is the first thing to check against your rail voltage — it means the part can run on ±90 V split supplies or a single 180 V rail, which puts it in a class above the usual 36 V or 44 V op-amps. The 8-PowerSOIC (0.154", 3.90 mm Width) package with the PowerPad underside ties the die's substrate to the PCB copper pour, so the thermal path is through the pad, not just the leads — plan a thermal-land pattern under the part.
Speed and precision — 6.5 MHz GBW, 25 V/µs slew, 1.4 pA bias
Gain-bandwidth product sits at 6.5 MHz with a 25 V/µs slew rate. For a high-voltage op-amp that slew rate is the practical limit on large-signal bandwidth — driving a 10 Vpp output swing, the full-power bandwidth is about 400 kHz before the output starts slewing. Input bias current is 1.4 pA typical, which keeps the DC error negligible for high-impedance sensor front-ends; the input offset voltage is 200 µV. Supply current is 3.2 mA, and the output can source or sink 30 mA per channel.
