What the 100 kHz gain-bandwidth buys the design
The OPA336NJ/3K is a single-channel general-purpose CMOS op-amp from TI's MicroAmplifier™ series, built for applications where power is the constraint, not speed. Its 100 kHz gain-bandwidth product and 0.03 V/µs slew rate limit the usable signal path to low-frequency conditioning — thermocouple amplifiers, photodiode front-ends running below a few kilohertz, battery-monitor dividers, and similar DC-to-slow-AC tasks. The 23 µA typical supply current keeps the power budget lean in always-on sensor nodes or portable instruments. Input bias current of 1 pA means negligible offset from high source impedances; the 500 µV input offset voltage is typical for this class and acceptable for non-precision paths without trimming.
Supply range and output swing — single-rail practicality
Rail-to-rail output lets the signal swing close to the supply rails — useful when the ADC reference is the same supply, avoiding a gain-stage headroom calculation.
Housed in a SOT-23-5 (SC-74A) package, the OPA336NJ/3K occupies minimal board area — about 3 mm × 3 mm — and suits dense mixed-signal PCBs where every square millimetre counts. Surface-mount assembly is standard; no special pad or via pattern beyond the datasheet's recommended footprint.
