10 MHz GBW, 20 V/µs slew — signal-chain workhorse
Rail-to-rail output swing lets the amplifier use the full supply range in single-supply designs, important when driving a 0 V to 5 V ADC input from a 5 V rail. The supply range spans 4.5 V to 36 V, covering common industrial rails from 5 V to 24 V.
The 4.5 V minimum supply means the OPA197IDR works from a single 5 V rail with margin, and the 36 V maximum lets it run on unregulated 24 V industrial supplies. Rail-to-rail output delivers the full swing to the load — in a 5 V system, the output can reach within millivolts of the rails, preserving dynamic range for the next stage. Input bias current is 5 pA typical, which is low enough for high-impedance sensor interfaces like photodiode transimpedance amplifiers or pH probe buffers. Combined with the 25 µV offset, the part can resolve microvolt-level signals without the drift of older bipolar-input amplifiers.
