12 GHz limiting amplifier — bandwidth and signal conditioning
The ONET8501PRGTT: The 12 GHz -3 dB bandwidth defines the upper edge of the passband — signals up to that frequency see less than 3 dB of attenuation through the limiting amplifier stage. As a limiting amplifier, it saturates the output swing for input levels above the threshold, providing a constant-amplitude output regardless of input variation — used in optical receiver front-ends and high-speed data links where amplitude variation must be stripped from the signal. Single-circuit configuration (1 circuit) means one channel per package — the BOM quantity scales linearly with the number of signal lanes.
Supply and thermal envelope for board integration
48 mA supply current sets the per-device power budget — at 3.3 V that is roughly 158 mW, which the 16-VFQFN exposed pad package dissipates through the PCB copper plane under the pad. Operating temperature from -40°C to 100°C covers industrial and telecom enclosures — the 100°C upper limit exceeds the typical 85°C ambient in most rack-mounted equipment, leaving margin for self-heating.
