32 KB OTP — one-time programmable, no field updates
OTP means the firmware is locked at the factory — no field reprogramming, no firmware updates over the product life. That makes this part a fit for production runs where the code is final and sealed, but a non-starter for any design that needs in-field patching or feature upgrades. The 100-pin QFP package (20x14 mm body) carries 40 I/O lines, plus LCD drive, SPI, and UART/USART connectivity.
TI lists the MSP430P337IPJM as obsolete. Date codes will vary, and the OTP nature means you cannot re-program a substitute die. Any replacement would need to be a pin-compatible MSP430 variant in the same 100-QFP footprint with matching peripheral set, and that requires a full qualification cycle.
