With 16 I/O lines in a 20-TSSOP package, you get enough pins for a small keypad, a few LEDs, and a couple of interrupt-driven sensors. For timing-precise applications like LINbus communication, the internal RC is trimmed to ±1% accuracy across temperature, but you can still feed an external clock if your jitter budget demands it.
