16-bit MSP430 core in a 14-pin TSSOP
The 14-TSSOP package gives you 10 general-purpose I/O lines plus I²C, SPI, and USI serial connectivity — enough for a sensor hub, a simple motor controller, or a power-management sequencer in an industrial control panel.
Brown-out detect and POR are integrated, so you can skip the external supervisor on cost-sensitive BOMs.
Peripherals and memory fit
The internal oscillator saves a PCB layer and two components, but if your application needs tighter timing than the internal RC can hold, the USI module can clock from an external source.
It is a current-production device in the MSP430G2xx family, so franchised distribution carries it as a standard line item. For a BOM that needs this exact 14-TSSOP footprint and 16 MHz ceiling, the supply channel is stable; no allocation signals or lead-time stretch reported on this density variant.
