256 bytes of RAM — plan the stack and buffers carefully
The 256 × 8 RAM is the tightest resource on this part. A firmware engineer needs to account for the call stack, interrupt context saves, and any I²C or SPI transmit/receive buffers within that budget.
With 10 general-purpose I/O pins on a 16-pin package, the MSP430G2252IRSA16R leaves six pins for power, ground, and the exposed thermal pad. The I/O count is enough for a few sensor inputs, a serial bus, and a couple of control outputs, but any design needing more than 10 GPIOs should look at the higher-pin-count variants in the MSP430G2xx family.
