2 KB Flash, 16 I/O — the pin-limited MSP430 for tight code budgets
The MSP430G2212IPW20 is a 16-bit MCU from the MSP430G2xx series, built around the MSP430 CPU16 core running at 16 MHz. The 20-TSSOP package exposes 16 I/O pins, most of which are muxed with the USI module for I²C or SPI. Every pin counts in this footprint; the design must budget each one before committing the schematic.
The operating temperature range spans -40°C to 85°C, covering outdoor enclosures and factory-floor environments without a qualification gap.
Active lifecycle — no EOL watch required
Texas Instruments lists the MSP430G2212IPW20 as Active (current production). The ROHS3 compliance (no exemption expiry) removes one more compliance-tracking item from the BOM.
There is no exposed thermal pad; the junction-to-ambient thermal resistance is set entirely by the copper area on the signal layers.
