16 KB Flash, 512 B RAM, on-chip LCD driver — the metering-tailored MSP430
It runs at 8 MHz and integrates 16 KB of program Flash with 512 bytes of RAM — enough for a dedicated metrology firmware stack that polls a sensor and drives a segmented LCD. The on-chip LCD controller and slope A/D converter eliminate the need for separate display driver and ADC ICs, shrinking the BOM for gas, water, and heat meters.
48 I/O, internal oscillator, brown-out detect — peripheral set for a self-contained node
The slope A/D provides a low-cost way to read resistive or capacitive sensors common in flow measurement.
TI lists the MSP430FW425IPMR as Active.
