FRAM eliminates the write-cycle worry: you can log data, update calibration tables, or implement over-the-air firmware patches without wear-leveling or sector-erase delays. The 128 KB (128K x 8) program space is backed by 2K x 8 of RAM for stack and scratchpad. For a metering or sensor-node design that needs to retain configuration across power cycles, this part saves an external EEPROM.
The internal oscillator keeps BOM count low, but an external crystal can be used for tighter timing.
Package and I/O — 100-LQFP with 63 GPIOs
Housed in a 100-LQFP (14x14 mm) with 63 I/O lines. The LCD driver segment pins share with GPIO, so the usable I/O count depends on display configuration. Surface-mount only; the LQFP footprint is standard for 0.5 mm pitch assembly.
