64 KB FRAM — what it means for the BOM
FRAM writes at bus speed with no erase cycle. 64 KB unified address space for code and data, no separate EEPROM needed. 12K x 8 SRAM handles stack and scratchpad.
Peripheral set for sensor-heavy designs
The on-chip 10-channel 12-bit SAR ADC samples at rates adequate for flow-meter pulse trains or temperature arrays. The LCD driver supports segment displays common in utility meters. Brown-out detect and POR keep the MCU from corrupting FRAM on a glitchy supply. The internal oscillator saves an external crystal for non-critical timing, though a crystal can be added for the UART baud-rate accuracy needed in Modbus RTU links. With 57 I/O, this package handles a mixed-signal front-end plus a parallel LCD or keypad without a port expander.
